GrillSymbol Luna Fire Pit Corten Steel 119cm
Luna Outdoor Fireplace in Corten Steel
“Luna“ is just timeless, like the full moon in the sky.
Luna is an outdoor wood burning fireplace and is designed for a modern person to create unforgettable moments with family and friends.
The outdoor fire pit consist of two parts: the exterior panel and the interior fire pit. The material of the exterior panel and interior fire pit: 3 mm Cor-Ten steel
The Luna exterior panel does not get too hot because of the gap between the two panels. There is a basket for ash inside the interior panels. The rocks are included in the set.
The Luna Fire Pit is supported on the ground by three legs.
GrillSymbol uses Cor-Ten which is mined and produced in Finland.
Cor-Ten steel which is almost pure carbon steel but processed in order to have a protective layer on the surface to make it weather-proof.
The surface is originally reddish-brown (resembles the colour of rust), which becomes darker with time. If used properly, Cor-Ten steel is expressive, durable and maintenance-free. It can stand the test of time in its own peculiar way.
COR-TEN® products can be stored outdoors all year round. Does not require storage.

More About Corten Steel
What is COR-TEN® and SSAB Weathering steel?
COR-TEN® is high strength, structural steel with exceptional weathering resistance. The chemical composition of the steel allows for the creation of a layer of rust that coats a product without altering the mechanical characteristics of the steel.
This rust layer, not only protects steel products against the elements but also delivers a unique finish that stops most people in their tracks. What’s more, it’s also more environmentally-friendly than traditional steel.
COR-TEN® Steel products seasoning instruction
As brand new, COR-TEN® looks grey as hot-rolled traditional steel.
There are two options how to season the surface: normal rust process or quick version.
Normal process is simple: leave your COR-TEN® product outside, the rain and humidity will make it rust. The surfaces have been cleaned with solvent, the metal surface is ready to rust. Rust typically appears in 1-3 weeks.
Quick process is to spray salt solution on the metal surfaces. You have to repeat this 5-6 times. The solution must be weak, about one teaspoon of salt per one litre of water. Dissolve the salt in warm water and spray the surfaces. No other treatment is needed, the rain washes the salt off.
When the Cor-Ten steel gets wet and the dries out, the rust layer becomes a little thicker, while the underlying solid steel becomes a little thinner.
COR-TEN® steel and stains: Corten does stain in the first year when it creates the rust layer.
Some stones absorb the stains, we recommend protecting light coloured paving stones in the first year. After the first year COR-TEN® stains very little.
COR-TEN® steel products can be kept outside 365 days a year. No storage needed.
